The Cool Runnings Track and Field Club is coached by two-time NCAA Division II National Champion, Arthemon Sindayigaya.  Arthemon was born and raised in the East African country of Burundi.  He came to the United States in 2000 to run track and cross country for Abilene Christian University.  He is married to Lydia Blasingame.  He and Lydia are Co-Managers at Rab's Comfort and Active Shoes.  He is also a Supervisor in the Abilene Christian University's Physical Resources Department.

 

Education:

  • 1998 – 1999    University of Burundi; Bujumbura, Burundi; Studied for a B. S. in Exercise Science

 

Private Coach:

  • 2005 – current Cool Runnings Head Track Coach coaching students in track and field
  • Coach High School and Middle School students in track and soccer
  • Summer 2008 - One student is USATF National Youth Champion in Youth Boys 1500m as well as USATF National Junior Olympic Champion in 800m
  • One student received state track meet award for 200m and 100m
  • Another student took 2nd place in long distance
  • 2006-2007 work with City of Abilene Summer Program in Track and Field in training young athletes
Head Track and Field Coach at Abilene Christian Schools for 2011 & 2012 Seasons.  During the 2012 season, 13 athletes advanced to the TAPPS State Track Meet.  One freshman female athlete finished in 1st place in both 1600m and 3200m runs in the 2A division.  His boys team finished in 3rd place in 2A.  The boys 4x100 relay team finished 2nd and the boys 4x200 relay team finished 3rd in 2A.

  • 2005 Abilene Track Summer Program:  Coach
  • 2005 Wylie High School:  Coached individual student; they placed 2nd in district in the 2 mile
  • 2003-2005 Abilene Junior Soccer Team:  Coach
  • 2002-2005 Abilene Christian Schools:  Track Coach; four students won State Meet for the 200m, 400m, and mile relay
  • 2000-2002 Abilene Independent School District Schools Cross Country Meets:  Referee
  • 2001 Abilene Junior Soccer Team:  Coach
  • 1997-1999 Student’s Military Burundi:  Military Track Coach
  • 1996 Lyce’s pf Musinzira:  High School Track Coach

 

Awards:

High School:  National Champion in Cross Country; Honored by Government of Burundi for helping high school track team; Honored by the Chief of Military for helping military track team; Represented Burundi in the French Games

 

Abilene Christian University:  National Champion in Cross Country 2000–2003; All American Cross Country 2000–2003; All American Outdoor Track 2001–2003; Seven All Original Conference Cross Country and Track 2000–2003; National Junior Soccer Team Coach of the Year Award 2002.
